Inpractical?
At my office we have the weirdest bathroom sink ever. I don't know what the people who came up with it were thinking and the people who installed it must have been equally as crazy. First, there are two facets instead of one and they are on opposite sides of the sink. One is hot and one is cold. This means that you have to choose between washing your hands in scalding hot water or freezing cold water. Then, you top it off with this...instead of having normal facets that turn on and off, they are spring loaded ones that you have to turn and hold to get the water on. As soon as you let go, the water turns off. That means that you can only wash one hand at a time. It makes me wonder what people were thinking when they designed it. Some people come up with the strangest and most impractical things ever and you wonder if they are actually alive. You go...you know, people actually have to use these things. It's not just something to put somewhere because it has to go there.
It's amazing to me that big companies that employ people and pay them to come up with stuff come up with stupid stuff like that. Like I saw this mobile desktop once that was basically a cross between an iMac and a Laptop.....but it had the worst features of them both. You sacrificed power and speed to make it "portable" and then you sacrificed looks and weight for a bigger screen. Basically you had a huge thing that was almost impossible to carry around, and didn't have the power to do the things you would want it to do. Get a laptop if you want something portable and get a desktop if you want something powerful. Crosses just never turn out well. It just amazes me that people can be so impractical and stupid.
It gets even worse though. You know, it takes a lot to go through law school or medical school; you have to be fairly intelligent to do that. Yet did common sense go out the window with schooling? You'd be shocked at how many people can't do something simple like check if their computer is plugged on before calling tech support to say it won't work, and these are people with degrees! It's understandable how common sense could leave you if you're in love or something else emotional, but when it comes to simple things, cause and effect, means and ends, you'd think that these people who are obviously intelligent to a degree, would be able to understand these basic functions. I guess that's just expecting too much.
